A different movie

This Hindi version of the Tamil flick Alavandhaan is one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year. The movie has screenplay and dialogues written by the actor itself.

Kamal Hassan has once again done a double role, after Hindustani. A story about two brothers who get seperated because the elder one commits two murders and is sent to jail..

While Major Vijay, (Kamal Hassan), lands up being a courageous and a brave soldier, it is however, Kamal’s second role that is worth a watch. His portrayal of a psychopath and a serial killer, has remained in the news and is the best part of the movie.

A brutal killer, the character of Abhay has dark shades to it. And in a true Kamal Hassan style, the actor in order to lend that special look to his character, has gone bald.

Adding the essential female touch to the flick are Raveena Tandon and Manisha Koirala. And it is Raveena a TV Newsreader, who is hounded by the psycho Abhay. And if you thought that this is to be one gloomy-dull psycho-thriller, then think again for we have the lovely looking Koirala girl dancing away to all those glamorous numbers.

But then do not expect much from the two girls, for it is finally a Kamal Hassan film all the way.

That both the Tamil and Hindi versions have been shot simultaneously is a much publicised fact and a lot has already been mentioned about the movie’s special effects that is said to have amounted to a whopping Rs 13 million. the special effects are mind boggling and is the best till date in indian movies..the movie has some nice numbers too..
