Abhay Deol(born in 1976, India) is an Indian film actor. He is the nephew of famous veteran actor dharmendra and cousin of actors sunnet deol and bobby deol . After graduating from Mumbai University, Abhay headed to Los Angeles and studied Fine Arts. After completing a two year acting course, Abhay answered to his Bollywood calling by coming to India and joining the Hindi cinema. He made his film debut in the 2005 film socha na tha(2005) opposite ayesha takia.
Has done majority of work with debutant directors; rather unusual and daring in the context of "star driven" Hindi film industry.
Abhay Deol said in an interview that he didn’t get into acting because of his famous cousins but that he was involved in theatre in school.
In an interview, he said he had four professions in mind: acting, painting, philosophy and journalism. He chose acting.
