Although television promos give the feeling that the album of this film may be interesting but that’s not the case.
Comprising six songs from the film and five additional tracks from previous Kamal Hassan movies the tape does nothing to elevate your mood .
’’Koyal se mili’’ by Shankar Mahadevan and Sujhata is easily the only good song of the album.Not only are the voices good Javed Akhtar’s lyrics also carry a lot of weight.
’’Hansde hansde’’ is a Shankar solo which is good in parts but it contains some funny jokes which are sung quite terribly which makes the song quite horrible
’’Dekho abhay’’ by Shankar which is the song describing the character, ’’Zingoria’’ by Nandini and ’’kal tak mujhko gaurav tha’’ by Hassan himself can be skipped easily
’’Hey! who are you’’ by Manisha Koirala and Kamal Hassan is also not great.The actors voice just two lines and the rest is instrumental.
After such a wonderful work in Dil Chahta Hai ’Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’ dissapoint us with this album.Infact this is easily among the worst soundtracks of the year so far
