Today, Im writing a short and sweet review over Abhishek Bachchan. I felt like it because hes just everywhere now days whether its his movies, news articles, just everyhwere LOL. Also because I happen to make fun of him whenever I see his face on TV, everyone in our family just loves poking fun at this guy.
What is the USP of this actor?
With so many actors today in Bollywood, every actor has their own unique style. Shahrukh- good dialogue delivery style and charm, Aamir Khan- perfectionism and subtle, Hrithik- action and lover boy, Sanjay Dutt- rock solid actor, etc. etc. My point is that every actor is known for a certain quality which has won over their fans. I want to know what quality Abhishek Bachchan has that his made him win over fans? Yes hes got a husky voice and hes tall, but besides that what else? Hes first and foremost most known for being Amitabhs son and the husband of the very popular Aishwarya Rai.
*Acting career and overall look at his performance
*Referring to his career map here, he started off with a nice debut like Refugee and he did an okay job for a newcomer, however afterwards- the flops started coming and he did end up doing okay box office wise from 2004 onwards after countless flops.
As an audience were forgiving when we notice that an actor has performed extremely well in a flop movie. Thats not the case with Abhishek because he failed to win me over with his montonous and dull performances. He did not show signs of being charismatic like his other contemporaries such as Hrithik, Akshaye, and Vivek. Also the guy was not capable of dancing well, though I think he has improved a bit now- Im being honest here. Anyways, I was not impressed by his performances in Mumbai se Aaya Mera Dost, Bas Itna Sa Khawab Hai, Bluffmaster, Dus, and all his other movies etc. etc. To me, he only tried in Dhoom, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna Ha, and Yuva- none of these performances are brilliant by any means but some signs of effort were noticeable. I also had to give my views about his highly overrated performance in Guru, tell me, can no other actor have performed this role just as well? Manoj Bajpai probably would have done such a great job, but no, he would have been ignored just like that cause hes not Mr. Bachchans son. Kamal Hassan would have done a great job too as Gurukant Desai. My points is his performance failed to touch me because you didnt see Gurukant Desai at times, you would notice Abhishek Bachchan trying to do what he could to come across Gurukant Desai and just didnt work in my opinion because he didnt put any effort into his changing his style of acting that hes accustomed to doing.
*Overall look
*Anyways my point is that hes overrated, and that Amitabhs performance in one movie is better than all of Abhisheks performances combined in his whole career as an actor. Sad that lesser known actors are being relegated to the back seat and this guy is getting so much attention for nothing special.
