Want Points or Service ...... Decide for yourself

As always, I write reviews only when I go through some terrible experience or feel strongly about something. You see, my concern is to prevent MS readers from being taken for a ride the way I was and be more careful while dealing with people through whom I have had bad experiences.

Here is one such experience that shall throw light on the unprofessional attitude of ABN Amro. I wonder how can they afford to act in such a way when there are huge and established giants in this industry. How do they plan to survive.......

Here’s how it goes. I was approached by Ms Ashwini (available on 022 2410 4857) of ABN Amro bank promising me a free Credit card for a year under the corporate scheme. I submitted all my documents to their executive Mr. Rajesh who visited me. Upon enquiring with Ms. Ashwini a week later I was told that ABN Amro was not in a position to give me a free card and that I would have to pay around INR 600 for the card. On knowing this I refused and asked Ms. Ashwini to return the documents as I had submitted true - attested copies.

She promised that it would be couriered that very day. This was 2 weeks before Diwali. However, till date I have not received the documents. I have called her more that 50 times and every time I get one excuse or the other. Is this the service ABN Amro intends to offer its aspiring customers.

ABN Amro has backed on its commitments not once but twice, first by offering a free card and then backing out on it and second by promising to return the documents but not doing so.

Main Concern

This reminds me of an incident that was reported in a couple of news channels a few months ago about an agent somewhere in Delhi, who used to take documents from aspiring CC customers and then misuse them. Well, is Ms Ashwini and ABN Amro planning something of this sort.

What sort of service can customers expect from them .......... no doubt they offer 3 reward points for every Rupees 100 spent, unlike the others. I feel there’s nothing much they have got to offer to attract customers, coz they them selves know that they stand nowhere in providing services as compared to the other major players currently in the market.
