I am having an ABN Amro card for over a year now. I have previously made swipes and have paid the bills on time. I made a swipe for 20000 Rs in Oct 2006. I was unable to pay the entire amount withing the due date. so I called up the Customer Care (CC) and informed them that I will pay the Minimum balance due and pay the entire amount in a single go.
They first said that its not possible and later asking them for the reason they finally accepted it. After making the initial payment when I called the CC they said that they cant do anything this time abt it and they asked me to pay the Minimum Balance Due and they said they will consider it. Even the person whom I spoke with promised they will call me up in few days regarding when and how to pay the entire amount. They never called me back as promised. Since I asked for the waiver of the interest since there was no fault from my end, they asked me to write a letter and give it.
The same story was coninuing every time. They will ask me to pay the amount and after paying the min amt due they will disappear......... Till now I have paid arnd 5000 Rs. But everytime I pay the money and when I look at the balance that I have to pay it will constantly remain in the same 20000. Since the same thing happened for more than 4 times I have stopped paying them any money. Even I went to the bank directly and I wrote a letter to the manager in Noida before 3 months. Till now I havent got a single reply from them.
None of the persons calling us will know wht the problem is and they will simply call only when they need to collect money. The people who r calling us never maintain any kind of records or they dont know wht has happened previously. We have to repeat things on and on.
Please if any one has any idea of getting the ABN Amro card drop the plan immediately. I have never seen a worst bank in my life. They never keep their promise and for their mistakes they shout at us and threaten us to pay the money.
