Please please please for god’s sake, stay away from ABN AMRO. I have been so frustrated with ABN’s home loan department, that I will not buy another product from them even if they threaten me to throw me off a cliff! Pathetic, nonsense, callous, stupid, dumb are the kind of adjectives one associates with ABN’s officials.
I am a victim of ABN’s whimsical ways of doing their home-loan business. The story is long, I will just mention one nugget from it. At one point, the bank had asked for indemnity bond from the builder against future litigations. Guess what, ABN took TWO MONTHS to do that --- while all other
people who took loan from other banks occupied their flats, I was sitting on my a** waiting for ABN to finish off its endless list of formalities. To add to the woe, EVERY ABN official gave a misleading information when I enquired about status of the indemnity bond: "we have not yet got it from the builder", "it is being reviewed", "i will get back to you as soon as it is approved" blah blah blah and BIG blah! If law permitted, I would go and slap each of these stupid dumbos who call themselves banking professionals at ABN.
All this, at a market leading interest rate: when average rate in market is 10.5 (floating), I am doling out 11.75 (floating).. and I am tooooo tired to deal with this morons anymore.. so waiting for some better time to switch to another bank.
