ABN Amro Bank is coool, there is no other word for it. I have been banking with ABN Amro for the past 2 years, under their Van Gogh Preffered Banking Service and its really nice. I mean, even when u call at 3 in the night (I did that once, wanted to know my account balance) the executives are not angry or anything but they simply do their job.
The service is really fast and they even offer a cheque (called instrument by them) drop and collection service right from your doorstep. I mean if your work place (yeah I have a corporate account with them) is kinda far from the bank, you cant go everyday to deposit cheques so they send over a guy everyday to collect cheques.
But then there are some LIMITATIONS to have an account with them. In case of a personal account (individual savings account, as categorised by the bank) the account balance should never fall below 5000 bugs, and you have to have a transaction every month, or they levy some kind of charges.
In corporate account type( corporate current account), your balance should never be less than Rs. 2, 00, 000.00 and you dont get any interest on your balance (as is in every current account around the world)
You can do everything with the punch of the phonenumber, I mean u can get ur statement of account, new chequebook, get a new NetBanking password and nearly everything else, (they even have a transaction service, I havent tried it yet) from the comfort of your home, so to anyone who is banking with a public sector bank (Worst experience of mine is with the Canara bank, its disgusting) I wud suggest them to switch to ABN, the only problem is that your sales tax wouldnt be filed so easily coz the govt doesnt bank with ABN.
