ABOVE AVERAGE

Chetan Bhagat’s Five point some one has been a phenomenon, talking about life inside IIT campus. Not sure if the Chetan’s success encouraged the author to write this book, but what ever it is, he is successful in keeping the story and characters original and fresh.

Sort of autobiographical, the book talks about protagonists’ life and experiences inside and outside of IIT Delhi campus. Author’s ability of describing subtle nuances of ‘student life’ is outstanding.. Portray of characters, their sensibilities and the atmosphere around will make you feel nostalgic(at least it worked for me!) .I didn’t like the narration style as it keeps moving back & forth and leaves u baffled at times. Wish next time around he makes it simple and easy to understand.

Nutshell is, yet another book by an IITian, on and off about life inside and outside college campus. While reading, try not to compare this one by Bhagat’s classic as both of them have got different flavors, class and motives. I enjoyed reading it, hope it works for you as well!!
