Accenture - Good and Bad points:
Good things:
1) Brand Name.
Bad Things:
1) HR - I haven’t seen them in my past 3 yrs career(not even once).
2) Policies - as you know when the HR is not visible the management does whatever they want to. they only make policies to exploit the maximum out of you. There is not even a single policy which has been introduced for employee benefit. For example - Changes in last 3 years -
a) Parents excluded from Insurance.
b) There will never be AC cabs in Accenture.
c) New Facilities are located in the worst area now.
d) Too much cost cutting(we have plastic glasses to drink water(earlier we had paper glasses).
e) Salary hike is the worst in the Industry now.
f) Its is officially 10hrs working day.
g) You can either take Indian holidays or the Project based holidays only(like UK or USA holidays).
h) They promote people on Bell Curve and salary hike is in direct competition with your peers around the facility(not in your team).
i) They do not have ad-hoc or late cabs and if you have taken any you have to explain the emergency on next day.
j) The Notice period(after resignation) has been raised from 1 month to 3 months.
k) the buy back option for your new employer is very rare as they deny.
3) Politics - OMG! Its right from the Second Entry level to the Top management.(There are high level lobbies and you have to be with one-of-them).
4) Favoritism - A Mallu favors mallu and a Kannad favors kannad, an Bangalore employee always favors employee from Bangalore and vise-verse, a TM favors the person who always says "YES" for everything.
5) No transparency - Eligible employees are working for 5 years without promotion and few favorites have got it thrice.
6) Bad food - Cafeteria is a nightmare. If you eat it more than 3 thrice .you’ll fall sick or you will end-up paying for a food equivalent to your needs of a full week.
7) Worst Transport - Let me remind you . 44 temp in Delhi . scrouching heat . u get picked at 12noon and reach office all drenched in sweat by 2pm . as THEY DO NOT HAVE AC CABS(its a shame as even amall BPO’s have it) . Lolzzz!
8) Parking - They don’t have parking space to accommodate even 25% employees.
9) Extra Time - NO overtime is paid here . it is considered as your work towards your company and nothing much.
10) Many managers here lack the basic qualities as well . forget about being good . as they were all promoted due to favoritism.
11) Just to add . my Induction program(or the joining program) was completed after 1yr of tenure .!
12) SCAM - When you salary is discussed with you, there is a break-up called "Variable Pay", this is worst . its actually a scam for you . If your ratings go bad you will never receive any variable pay and it is a significant amout in your salary. Moreover, if you leave this organisation and goto a new-one, they will only consider CTC(Basic pay) which will always be less as no new employer considers any aditional pay or allowances as your CTC . so its a big big loss for us.
All I can sum it up with is . it was a good company, however, now few Indian managers have taken over and messed it up badly. It use to be very nice to work here, however, it is just the oppsite now. I am an employee for 3 years now and I am planning to leave. Skilled employees have stopped getting into Accenture. Even if they do join, they leave within 3 months. I am here and I have seen it all. I am planning to change soon. I wish I could share my details, however, I dont want a bad name in the Industry, however, the truth should be spoken. I hope you will read this and be enlightened.
