I have worked with Accenture for around 3.6 yrs and would like to share my experience with you so that you guys can judge accentures policies and work culture.
I started my career with accenture in year 2006 and after completing my greenfield training put into software testing. As a fresher I always wanted to be a developer coz of my MCA background but in accenture you dont have a choice to choose your stream as a fresher. Some people changed their stream by showing some JAVA ceritification but out of a batch of 20 resource randomly 10 were put into JAVA and 10 were put into Testing. I didnt fight much and started my career as a tester. AAH!!!
Luckily I got hard locked to a project during my trainig and joined it. To mu illluck there was no work in that project and it was awaiting work in future by showing resources onboard. During my trainig we were taught QTP tool and I really lilked it coz it had development scope and logic builing testing.
I was rolled out of the project as there was no work and I was on bench for around 1 month which was actually a honeymoon period. We used to play carrom, table tennis in office and roam in cafeteris and get paid for it. As a fresher I was enjoying it. Then I got my forst project for a telecom client. It was a nice project but I had to do manual testing. I gace my 100% and kept learning automation testing side by side. I was given ASE acehivers award for my performance. I learnt that freshers were taken for granted by seniors and the best way to give your senoirs answwer is by performing well. This is what I did. after 1.2 yrs in that project I was moved into another project and it was a joy ride. I worked on automation and learnt a lot. Accenture is very frm with its policies. Accenture follows every procedure and a lot of importance is given to testers. One thing best about accenture is that you will all kind of exposure and once u r king in your technology no one can stop you. You need to tackle your managers politically and smartly. Managers in accenture really support you and give you charge of your module. so best way is to take full advantage of that. My two projects were full of joyness and learning. finally I moven into my third project which sent me onsite and then after coming back I resigned due to less salary. accenture pays well but at that time after recession the pay I was getting was just not enough as I was married and living in mumbai(its expensive). but overall my experience was excellent and if given a chance I would want to go back to accenture.
Like all companies HRs in accenture also have laid back attitude but its manageable as we hardly have to interact with them and if you hv good relationship with ur manager you can get all ur work done without HRs help :). So guys go ahead and join accenture.
