This is my first review on this excellent site MS. I just purchased an Acer Aspire 5536 for 31k from Croma with 10 free gifts. I previously owned Acer Aspire 5500 for 3 yrs .This laptop comes loaded with Vista Home Edition
Its 15.6" screen, AMD turion X2 processor, 2GB RAM with ATI HD3200 grafix card...
AMD is quite a battery hog so its battery life is less ..Around 1:30 hrs ...But since I always had it connected to mains , so no probs...
Lets discuss Pros and Cons
Pros :
Very stylish design
15.6" large screen good for movies
Good sound thru Dolby theater speakers, no need to use external speakers while playing movies
Stylish keyboard, keys can be washed
Integrated Webcam which beats Dell 1525 webcam hands down..Even in low light, bright picture !
Till now no heating probs like Acer 5500 ..Cool but when playing CPU intensive games like COD5, temp reaches upto 80C. (May be I was dloading a COD MW2 day and night so its heating)
HDMI port (no other manufacturer is giving it in such a low cost)
Cons:
Less battery life (around 1.5 hrs only)
Not very sturdy build like Dell
No recovery CD set given (Acer 5500 has it)
No Driver CD set (one has to dload it all from internet if one wants to install XP etc)
Overall for 31k , this is surely a value for money laptop for your daily needs (Movie, surfing and light playing) if you dont need much battery backup. Dont go for Dell 1525 as it has a poor webcam
