I bought an Acer Aspire 5920(Gemstone Series) in Aug’08. Within a month I found that the 4-directional key at the bottom below the touch-pad was not working. I complained to the dealer in Digboi, Assam who promised to send Acer service engineer within a month when the fellow would come from Tinsukia, the district HQ. I also complained to Acer helpline. But till today it has not materialized.
The battery life is also pathetic. It hardly lasts one & a half hours. Besides it shows the warning message even when 20 mins. remain as per its own reckoning. BTW this’time remaining’ message is also unreliable as warning message is displayed with different durations of’time remaining’.
Recently I found the SD Card reader doesn’t read SDHC cards too.
All in all, it adds muscle to the saying "All that glitters is not gold"!
