In year 2007 I decided to buy a laptop. I started my hunt for Laptops. My first preference was HP/ Compaq as they have very good service centers in the city. Searching for the laptop specifications I went one of the service centers of HP. There I saw huge line for repair or for servicing the laptops. I was afraid why that much problem is there in the HP laptops. I decided not to go for HP.
On the same day I saw Acer Aspire 5920 (Gemstone Series) displayed on E-zone. The person told It is available with two types one with Original Vista installed in it and other with only Linux OS. I asked about the Model without Vista. The laptop has Intel Core 2 Duo Process with Mother board of 1.66 GHz. RAM was of 2 GB and can be extended up to 4 GB. 160 GB of hard disk with Wifi technology. It has a inbuilt Camera of 1.3 MP.
A smooth Speaker and a subwoofer on the back side of laptop. It has a Dolby Home theater effect with Virtual Surround Sound. 5 in 1 inbuilt Multimedia reader and an express card reader. DVD writer and 4 UBS Ports with 1 PS II mouse port , 1 Monitor Output. Keypad is very very smooth and very much spacious to type freely. There are many shortcut keys like to open web windows, your outlook, blue tooth and CD Play Keys which are touch Keys. What I saw was a Metallic Black Acer from outside and Light Grey from inside.
Look wise it is very nice. With these many features and so nice still I was having doubt in my mind about service and product durability, as there was very less information available on net. I gathered more and more information from showrooms and finally came to conclusion for purchasing it. It was Ugadi Time in Bangalore and e-zone was having a offer with this laptop of giving Canon printer free. So at time I availed this offer and purchased it. The price what I paid for it was 36, 000 INR, which I saw was worth for this laptop.
For display it has mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset with resolution of 1280 x 800 (32 Bit)(60 Hz). Now some of the features which I don’t like:Its total Weight is approx. 3 KGsGlossy screen makes it difficult for me to view when some light is on background.other than two features I woul like to recommend this laptop to all who are seeking laptop.
