One rainy day last august I walked into a staples showroom, more to avoid the rain than to buy anything when something blue caught my eye . I walked by closer for a better look and there it was a huge laptop with crustal clear blue LCD, much much brighter and sharper than anything I have ever seen in laptops ( pls do consider I have seen quite a few but not all the top end models ). A smile crept into my face as I let my eyes dance around the 18.4 inch screen in 16:9 ratio and I felt my smile rise higher as I see a cool scroll pad in the dead left that just demands to be touched.
I move closer within touching range and my smile abruptly stops... there written down this magnificient specimen of a laptop is the name ACER !! Forgive me if I am wrong but to see a path breaking revolutionary ( in style as I havent learned of its specifications yet ) from acer’s conservative , bland stables was surprising indeed. Quite intrigued I asked the customer executive standing next to me who I think was used to the stares this machine drew from the other customers by the way he was smiling at me , the specifications and here is what I learned.....
Its a 4GB RAM with a 2.6 Ghz core 2 duo T9500 and 320 GB hard drive, 512 Mb dedicated graphic memory with additional 1GB turbo cache memory for nvidia Geforce 9650 GS with windows vista ultimate operating system !! Blown away my friends ?? well thats just the icing... The screen is a 18.4 inch TFT with full HD playing capabilities with 1920 by 1080 resolution. six integrated dolby home theatre based sound system with tuba cine bass subwoofer to provide the kind of sound unheard of in a laptop till date ( according to Acer. I was mind blown but I cant say for sure its the best )
Now top this with blue ray playing and burning capabilities, 8 ms response time , inbuilt digital TV tuner and I was almost out the door to sell my kidney !! The 6 in 1 card reader. finger print reader, cine media scroller and interior and exteror lighting along with a holographic 3D cover is not even mentioned to me as the salesman considers this standard !! All this will effectively make you realise that this is a multi media gem of a machine !! It weighs aroung 5 kgs roughly so get ready to lug some weight. Just when I had assumed that the laptopwould be way out of my price range was when they announced its retailing at Rs 79000 !! Now that took away rest of the breath I had... I mean my knees literally gave away. I was in tears as here was a gem of a laptop aptly named acer gemstone blue that gave me everything one could ever want in a laptop and more at a throw away price and I just got my lenovo laptop 9 months ago.
So I somehow managed to drag myself out of the shop to consider my predicament as there was no way I can change my laptop now not for another 6 months atleast ( whence I can tell my parents about advancements and requirements I need as I just joined the advertising field as a PG student ) But I recommended this laptop to every single friend or stranger who were looking for a laptop and trust me after using my friend’s laptop for around 2 months now I am still in love. So guys please do take a look laptop... the acer 8920G before you decide anything as the same configiration in Dell ( after upgrading ) is around 1.5 lakhs !! And trust me the price must have come down a bit too now so its totally worth it
