Acer Service / approcah to customers

I have been using ACER laptops since last 4 year.never had any complaints. So I decided to gift my daughter an Acer Timeline 4820TG in Jan 2011, which I purchased from CROMA, Mulund, Mumbai.


In March, the RHS hinge and a portion of display frame(see photo) got unlocked(detached). I complained to Acer service on 17th March. Their engineer visited 2 days later & said that he has to get spares / change the plastic hinge / display frame and may take 1 week  (Case ID: 031711-608: Acer laptop Timeline 4820TG srl no LXPSG02158019090A92500 rhs hinge problem)


Acer has the worst service support in Mumbai, INDIA. My new ACER TIMELINE 4820TG developed hinge breakage problem with 2 months of purchase . Case logged on 17th March 2011, still pending for repairs."spares not available" is the answer from Acer Mumbai.


After numerous follow up with their call center, there was no concrete reply as to when this will be repaired.


My demand for replacement is still not accepted by them, inspite of this delay of 45 days. So I would suggest people in India take note of poor Acer Service support before buying their products! As I write this review(1st May 2011), I still dont have any confirmation from Acer for replacement / or repairs.


I all this, the worst part is that all the communication is one way! No replies to emails nor any call from their service support.


Hope someone from Acer Taiwan see’s this review to straighten up their service set up here in India.
