A Royal Enfield Bike with No Petrol

Looks like Gautam Menon travelled along with this couple, closely behind the bike but he forgot to carry the story and finally remembered only near climax that the film is running without any story - so like at+2 candidate writing a well known answer at the last 5 minutes with full tension, Gautam gave some justification and closed the story and asks us to quietly leave the theater.

The film starts with all "Gautam" isms - Happy jolly life, friends, love etc.Though like a moffusil bus we have a musical stop every 10 mins, because of A R Rahman’s caliber the first half runs very smoothly without any twist. Infact the first half of the film is entirely carried over by A R rahman only. Others, including Gautam Menon are just "guest appearances".

Though Simbu looks a bit stout and aged, his cool looks and attitude really gives the film a very relaxed atmosphere. Truly it is very rejoicing to see someone speaking Tamiz so slowly, chewing every word and uttering it out.(Surya would have consumed 4 pages of dialogues in a minute, along with a loud speaker just enough to tear our ear drums apart).

Manjima(Heroine) has got an apt role, something she should really thank Gautam for. As a debutant(at least to Tamil audience) she has really carried all the emotions - Friendship, love, anger, scare) really well.

The scene just before the interval - where they meet with an accident is really to be appreciated. Instead of a direct cut to show the incident, it is dragged, along with their romance, just to increase the anxiety. It was really different and showed Gautam Menon’s punch.

Second half is a complete thriller without any logic- But you wont have time to think about this as Simbu keeps shooting whoever comes in front of him, thereby keeping you at the edge of the seat. Given a chance he would shoot you also since the story actually didnt need any reason behind that shooting- Thank God you are alive.A word about those 2 guns - Right from our young age, our general knowledge is "tamed" to beleive that there are only six bullets in a gun - but this gun - I guess Simbu only needs to connect the gun to a wire and re-charge it at any plug point and bingo, you have the gun completely loaded so that he can continue his mission.

Baba Seghal has done his job very well. He perfectly fits a North Indian corrupt police official role. That watch which he wears is really cute.

But the best part is the climax where Simbu returns as an IPS officer - I never knew that IPS is so easy exam. I thought you need a lot of dedication and hard work to clear that -But Simbu cleared it like a "moral" exam and became an IPS officer - just to take revenge of Baba seghal.

I could see a complete silence in theater when simbu appeared as police officer out of the blue and also gave a "weekly status report" of what he did all these years and why all these happened.

I felt like the director is telling me to "quicKly watch these nonsenses and get out soon so that the next set of audience can come and watch the movie".Gautam had a lot of time to substantiate the revenge of Manjima and family but the first half, in the name of "romance" engulfed most time and hence Gautam didnt have much time to show the reason behind the core second half atrocities.

On the whole, the movie is certainly worth watching once, if you are willing to just sit tight and watch whatever happens before you on the screen. If you start asking logic/questions etc.then, please better finish IPS exam in 2 years and then ask those questions.

AR RAhman, Simbu, Manjima all support actors, cinematographer- all have created a good impression on the film but only Gautam Menon didnt know how to exactly fit them into a black box without a story.

It is truly to be appreciated that all these artists/technicians have shown their extra ordinary talent in a film which had no content - had Gautam menon worked a little bit more on the script, how good a honor it would have been for all of them?

shall meet in next film.VARTAAAAA!
