I was using Airtel Broadband for 5 years in my rented apartment, and I moved into my own apartment in the next plot. Airtel waited for a few days after my request to transfer and finally said, they dont have technical feasibility to move from one plot to the next. Out of any other option, I chose ACT to provide broadband services for my new home.
Initially, after reading a lot of negative reviews here, I skeptically paid them a 6 month advance of ~Rs. 6500 for a 999 plan - 15MBPS with 40GB usage. However, their response was very quick and good. Even though they didnt have a box in the new apartment, they quickly set up the fiber pipe from a neighboring apartment and fixed their box (optical-ethernet modem) in the apartment centrally and brought in the cable into my house, set up the WiFi router and got the internet running at my home within 3 days!
I did face some problems with the connectivity. There were problems in the apartment (since construction work was still going on), somebody had cut off the main fiber pipe coming into the apartment! ACT responded quickly and solved this problem without too much delay.
In general, so far, I have been happy with my experience with ACT. I guess they are going through some kind of financial crunch (my guess), since they moved billing in arrears, to billing in advance. i.e. they charge for the month of May in the beginning of May, rather than in the end.
