I subscribed to one year pack which comes with free wifi router. There was no need to look for a router, but the cost of Linksys 300 Mbps device would cost almost the same, so I went with that option.
The sales person who visited had all smooth talk done until he got the cheque. Service activation took 10 days. On the day when the folks came to install the LAN connection, they did not have the router. When I asked them they said my package does not have one. Surprised I called the sales guy, who promptly had "blocked" my number. Then I showed the signed copy of the service agreement, for which the folks said they have no authority and they just come here to install the fibre box and the LAN cables.
Since then it has been a month and I have tried calling the sales guy from different numbers. He picks up only if it is a different number and gives an excuse and then blocks that number. Calling their customer support is pointless as they parrot speak the same information which is useless. First they said, this will be addressed in 24 hrs. Then on calling again it became 7 days, then 10 days.
So my sincere request - dont sign up for bulk packages. Go incremental if you have no other choice. In my honest opinion, I am happy with BSNL 4 Mbps link which I have been using for few years. Their customer service is 1000 times better and prompt. There is a face you can see in case you want to escalate.
ACT customer service is fake and gives you no confidence that there is actually someone who can help you. After a few calls, I have a feeling they probably have the call centre in a canteen where the reps are having chai and just casually talking to grieved customers and laugh at our plight post the call.
I give 2 thumbs down. I am thinking about filing this complaint with consumer court. Not sure if that helps as our countrys judiciary is also worth commenting on Mouthshut!
