Ad-Mag is an unique concept.It is a tabloid consisting entirely of classified ads.Most of these ads are free, i.e. you don’t pay for an insertion.Infact, an ad may be repeated till it is sold.Of course, there is a limitation in terms of number of words that make up the ad, but this poses no problem.There are telephone lines open 24 hours upto 6:30 every Saturday.You have to read out your ad to the operator and there you have it.Since it is a classified ad, the position is AD-MAG’s business.But they generally put you in a convenient category.And the ads actually work.Each time I have advertised I have got atleast ten enquiries.I have sold my last PC and dot-matrix printer through insertions in AD-MAG.The paper is sold all over Calcutta at busy traffic intersections.Usually children hawk this yellow tabloid which also has a bengali version.The last time I purchased the paper the price was Rs 3/-.All in all, its a great way to dispose off or acquire things which you don’t need or which you are looking for.
