The Taj Falaknuma aspires to preserve the style and hospitality of a time long gone by, and largely, they are right on target. The service is perfectly pitched, right from the softly murmured greeting of "aadaab" as you arrive to the personal attention from the manager.
They also offered tasting portions of their menu highlights so we could sample them over and above what wed ordered. The setting is spectacular.
The palace feels like the last outpost of Nizami andaaz in the bustling city of Hyderabad. However, we were there for the food and this I must say, was not spectacular.
The mutton was extremely tender made with mouth watering mix. The naan which comes along with it enhanced its taste. We also had another chicken kebab.
I guess its murgh malai kebab but the galouti won over this. We also had pattar-ka-gosht. This was satisfactory as the mutton was not as tender and soft as I expected it to be, but it was tasty and good.
Next, one of my family members were eating only vegetarian so they ordered paneer tikka and a veg starter. They were overwhelmed by the paneer.
