Worst online shopping experience

I wanted to gift my father with a Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V mobile phone. After a lot of searching online, I found that adexmart had cheaper prices on all electronic goods. The phone I wanted to buy costed Rs. 16475. I was also surprised that a few of the ratings about this vendor suggested that it is not a bad idea to buy from them. Only later I realized that all of the good reviews have been written by the vendor himself or by his staff, to fool buyers!


Before I placed the order I had called their customer care asking if the WHITE colored Neo V handset was really available, since all the colors showed available on their website. The lady told me "Of course yes sir, if it shows available on the website, it has to be! You can place the order". I was assured and I went ahead like a fool! While placing the order there is no option to select the color. I should have been alarmed here. But I chose to trust them. Their website was so slow that while processing my credit card, I was really nervous! Later I called and asked the lady about the handset color, she said the white colored handset would be sent to me, and I only needed to leave a note within my order. I did as she said.


My order was generated with an order number. I even received an email the next day saying I the mobile phone would be delivered to my father between 4 to 7 days. This seemed pretty professional and I hoped for the best and waited anxiously. Later I came across some very negative comments about the vendor, but I chose to ignore them and trust Adexmart. On the 6th day I saw that there was no update on the status of my order on their website! I called them.


The lady said the white handset was not in stock and they were waiting! She said they would send it within 2 days. I was shocked since I had confirmed this before I placed the order. When I asked the lady she had no answer. She was in a hurry to cut my call. I waited for 2 more days. I called them, they said still no stock, asked me to wait for 2 more days. It was a weekend after that. I wanted for 4 days. it had been 2 weeks since I had placed the order and there was no progress at all!


I was scared I would lose the 16475/- completely if I did not do anything. I read through the reviews again and found that they had cheated people like this many times in the past. I called again and asked if they had the handset at all(in any color). The lady said only blue sir. Blue is the cheapest version of the handset in the market. But I was very scared of losing all my money to them. I asked if she would dispatch the handset immediately if I modified my order. She said she would. I said "Fine! Send Blue!"


She promised I would receive a confirmation with courier details within evening. I waited, did not receive anything all day. I called back the next day. She said the courier was already sent and I would surely receive the details on the same day. I wanted, nothing that day too. The next day happened to be a national holiday. So on the 4th day I called she said she would sent the confirmation on that day in the afternoon. She finally did. I was relieved. I received the mobile after 3 more days(after waiting for about 3 weeks totally).


I wanted to gift my father a white colored handset I had to compromise with the blue one! Plus I wnet through this sickening and disgusting ordeal, courtesy Adexmart.


My sincere suggestion: Don’t even think of buying anything from them! Even if you receive the product in any form, like I did, the money you save is not worth the amount of anxiety and tension they put you through!
