Adobe has completely forgotten why PDF was originally created - to help people share and distribute documents that others can easily view and work with. Now, whenever I send a PDF to people, I get complaints that they cant open and view the PDF. Why? Because now Adobe is playing the you have to upgrade every year game in order to make the PDF distribution model profitable. Also, users that receive my PDFs complain about Adobe Reader 9 trying to install itself over their existing previous full versions of Adobe Acrobat in order to read the PDF I send them. That is NOT the way it should work. Its now easier to just send people the source documents. Also, its getting more and more complicated to use, and to find the things I want.
Adobe Acrobat 9 is like buying 10 programs in one - I dont need all that extra stuff they keep adding (not to mention application size). I should have just stuck with Acrobat 7, which seemed less buggy and less bloated.
I recommend you NOT upgrade to Acrobat 9.
