Written by Karan Johar, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a romance drama, which is all about unrequited love and deals with the journey of three characters - Ayan, Alizeh, and Saba. Alizeh(Anushka Sharma), who is still reeling from the effects of a recent breakup, develops a budding romance with Ayan(Ranbir Kapoor), who is passionate about singing. What happens next forms the crux of the story.
The audience say Ae Dil Hai Mushkil deals with a routine love story, but Karan Johar has made the film engaging with interesting twists and turns in the screenplay. Some funny dialogues and romantic moments keep you entertained in the first half. The second half is high on emotional quotient.
