A Delicate weave of sentiments

I watched this film on Friday, the 3rd show before reading any review because I wanted an unadulterated and unbiased opinion.

Love, Pain, heart break, friendship, jealousy - the movie offers all of these sentiments in never seen before such a delicate way which is a lot near to the real and a very fine line keeps it away from becoming surreal.

The characters are complex just like commoners, they have their fears, their envies, their vision of romance, their vision to chill out, their way to deal in friendship, etc. This is the trickiest part of the film - The characters, they demand your very keen observation right from the beginning, and if you connect with them the story takes up the flow which has all the natural highs and lows everybody goes through in a lifetime.

Ranbir and Anushka are the head and heart of the film and they have done justice to their roles, however the dialogues seem to be a bit forced, though not much’Urdu’ has been used but whatever is used doesn’t look natural because of current generation’s accent doesn’t match upto the aristocratic nature of Urdu language.

Aishwarya looks beautiful and poised in her impactful role.

Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo is a delight and sums up the films in a beautiful couplet -

’Gar baazi ishq ki baazi hai, jo chaho laga do dar kaisa!

Gar jeet gaye toh kya kehna, haare bhi toh baazi maat nahi!’

The songs are all beautifully written and shot, especially the title track, Bulleya & Channa Mereya are simply amazing.

Overall it’s a film which lingers on your thought when you come out, it enriches your own experience of love, friendship, romance, jealousy, etc. The movie lives with you.

It’s a beautiful film to watch with a chilled out mind to get ready to think.
