Truth be told, my ex and I had more connection than I could have with this movie! Have you heard of high tides in the ocean on a full moon night? Well that is how HIGH my expectations were for this movie. The promoters sure did a fabulous job at luring innocent people like ME to watch - Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, but sadly, Karan did little work on the storyline ( or probably he absolutely forgot to add one at all) . Duh!
The whole movie was supposed to be an emotional roller coaster and make us GIRLS ( especially - at least! ) cry. The only thing that made me cry ( besides seeing a baby-faced Ranbir, cry) was wasting 350 bucks on the ticket to watch THIS ( which was paid my date, soahem, hurts a little less) !
I could barely connect with the characters, let alone the movie - ‘waterboarding our hearts’! Love triangles are complicated - but this was heights of complications. Connections were made where there was no scope at all, for instance:
Ranbir and Anushka ( A trip to Paris on a private jet and you fall for her - come on - that easy, with no hints at all - standards dude? )
Ranbir and Aishwarya ( It looked beautiful, appealing, a little bit of connection there - but it wasnt love - if you know what I mean * Grins* )
Anushka and Cancer ( Well, that COULD have made some sense - if only - there was a hint of it in the beginning - or - in the middle - or - somewhere in between - but truly no scope at all - 4th stage - direct shot to fame. * applauds* )
You could have done better than this Karan, I betted on you with my date, and you ruined it - destroyed it - the only good part was holding hands and being there the whole time.
Dangal, please be good - this time I will be paying!
