After filling the details online and after paying the premium, company given me the option to choose the convenient timing for medical test at my home. The medical person ( I hope it is not the doctor), came to my home on time and done the medicals. Since I had some pre-existing conditions, the company asked for some further documents from the hospital where my treatment has been done. But since I am in a different city now, I couldnt go back to the previous hospital and collect the document, I have informed Religare the same and requested them for medicals in any hospital which Religare proposes in my current city, in my expense. But the company declined and hence cancelled my proposal (proposal no: 512022560592). I dont have any complaint in cancelling my proposal, because as per their business policy, I wont come under the same risk group of others. So I dont have any issue in cancelling my proposal. Till the cancellation, everything was extremely good; like the online platform, the customer care, the medical test etc.
After cancelling my proposal (proposal no: 512022560592), the bad time started for me. After cancelling the proposal, company is not returning my premium collected. Customers need to pay the premium at the time of online form submission itself. I got a mail from religare that they will refund my full amount, but till now ( it is already 45 days), the refund has not happened. Initially they informed me that they have send the cheque to me. But after few days, they stopped replying my mails. It is now more than 45 days, I dont have any update about my refund. After trying to contact the company several times through mail, today finally I have registered complaint in IRDA ( IRDA token no : 04-12-002246) today. I am expecting IRDA help in getting back my money now.
Till now I have read many comments, reviews about many products in mouthshut and today is the first time I am writing my experience here. I am not demotivating anybody, by my message, but just making other aware how things are going on. I hope this will help you while you making your decision.
Another thing, I have noticed is that there are many who are very much satisfied with Religare Iterm. Infact it is a good product by features. But one more thing we need to keep in mind is that, Religare is having claim rejection ratio of more that 50%. So even though you are a very satisfied customer of religare for many years, when time comes for the company to make a payment (eventhoug non want this situation), the chance for rejecting a claim by your dependent, who already suffering the loss of his loved one, will have to suffer another burden of claim rejection.
