Aegon religare don't live upto their promises

I am 28yrs Male and recently applied for Aegon religare Term insurance (online product). After doing some homework on various term insurance products, i’d decided NOT TO GO  for Aegon religare. But one day Aegon religare sales team called me up and the way the marketing person clarified all my doubts pertaining to low claims ratio, etc, I was really impressed and applied for their product. The generated Iterm plan number was : 512012553085.


Lately there had been a mild jump in my Blood pressure , i’d sincerely given them a very detailed description of what all diagnosis has been done and what all treatment has been done so far. Infact i’m just under observation period. i.e i’m advised to take a particular tablet only the BP crosses certain level. So as per the doctor advise i’m not under any medication and i’m supposed to keep monitoring the Blood pressure, do regular walking, low salt diet and low fat diet..


I gave them each and every report. Then as contrary to their sales team claim or as Mr.Sourav has claimed in this forum, NO DOCTOR will visit your home to do the medicals. It will be definitely a 2nd or 3rd grade diagnostic center lab assistant who will do the medicals. I’m not asking for a DOCTOR to come and see me at my home. I perfectly understand there is a dignity attached to DOCTORS. DOCTORs can’t definitely go and visit every person’s home and collect the blood/urine samples. But why should Aegon Religare in the FIRST PLACE do the marketing like that stating that by sending the DOCTORs home to do medicals is one of their way of providing superior service to the customers. Anyways, let me come to main issue. After 10 days of submitting everything and doing medical test, I get an e-mail from them saying my policy is not issued and it is postponed for 6 months in


view of personal medical history. It is the exact statement from their e-mail. How can they provide such a blunt reason without any specific and reject my policy. Can the other forum members please advise me what is the way to take this up to the consumer court? Don’t I have the right to know the specific reason for my policy postponement/rejection instead of just a blunt reason "in view of personal medical history". Next I e-mail to the same aegon religare mail-id asking for the results of the medical tests they conducted and give me bit more detail or a specific reason. So in the next reply, I get an e-mail from Aegon religare stating my policy is postponed for 6 months "in view of personal medical history and findings in the URINE". But the strange this is , all the URINE test reports are normal, none of them showed any problem. I really can’t understand how a normal URINE test report can be used to say there some findings in the URINE test results and bocz of which my policy is postponed. Now i’m not sure how many e-mails i’ve to write to get my refund.


Moral of the Story : Aegon religare don’t live upto their promises. They have a very aggressive, professional and well-educated sales team. But how far the sales team can come through the entire process? The rest of the team are really hopless. Do not fall for CHEAP premiums.

We respect your privacy and as such would not like to disclose onthis forum the cause of rejection for your policy, but since you have also agreed when explained by our underwriting team the reasons behind rejection of your proposal I would like to believe that your grievance is answered.Also for every case that we offer a customer a counte offer and he dosent accept, we refund his complete premium amount without deduction ofany charges at all.
