I was moving some of my things back home as I was changing cities. My roommate suggested Agarwal Packers and Movers in Hyderabad, as they were apparently the best. They are only best in charging high rates, rest is all the same.
I used an online website to ask for quotes in moving my household goods. They were the first ones to respond. The mans name was Vikas Verma calling from Agarwal. The quote that they give on phone at first seemed reasonable and he would adeptly answer all my calls. Then when we called him home to give a finalised quote he charges almost 3, 500 extra. The original quote given was 5, 500, as I just had a few cartons and 2 suitcases. Nothing big. then finally we agree on 8, 000. He gives his "personal guarantee" that the goods will reach safely and my suitcases will not be damaged. The next morning those guys come pack up my stuff and ask me to 8, 890. Whereas I had already confirmed a payment of 8, 000. I refused to give the extra mount and they settled for 8, 000. At this time and before I had specifically asked them to be careful with the suitcases, as they were brand new and I didn’t want the wheels to break in transit. Again they guaranteed professional packing.
I sent the goods with them and it did not get delivered till a week and a half later. That too the call was made by DTDC and not Agarwal Packers. They had promised to send two people with the goods so they can make a door delivery. However they are only promises that they do not keep. The DTDC people only loaded my things in an auto and it was dropped off on the ground floor of the place where I live, whereas I stay on the 2nd floor. On top of that the wheels of the suitcase were broken.
I have tried calling this person so many times, but he never picks my call or even if someone does, its not him. He is always unreachable or in meetings.
For the money they have charged, they have provided really bad service. These guys are cheats and they just want to make money out of people. Once you pay them, they dont really care what happens. If I was to get bad service, I might have as well paid lesser and gotten the same thing.
Very disappointed with them and I would suggest not using these guys for moving.
