Recently I moved from Bangalore to Pune and had a horrible experience with Agarwal Packers and Movers who did the shifting of the household goods. I had to make numerous phone calls to follow up on everything - tracking where the truck (which was a sub-optimal sized tempo) was, calling the carpenters to get the beds/chests assembled.
They also damaged some things and explained this would not be covered as I had not taken the liability insurance and had opted for ’owner’s risk’ option. To date (now 2 months since the move), they have not sent the carpenter who was supposed to put together the entertainment/TV center and the glass doors are still lying packed in the wooden box that they packed in Bangalore!!!
Really pathetic synchronization between their Bangalore and Pune offices/godowns/whatever they call.
SERIOUS ADVICE I can give: DO NOT pay the full amount to them until everything reaches the destination unpacked/assembled/claimed/repaired - only then release the payment with the signature on the goods list.
Also, beware of their verbal/false promises in person or on phone that sound like "it will be done by tomorrow" or "you will get a call from us" or "he will be there in 1/2 an hour" and all such things you must be already aware of!!!
Overall, a very terrible/painful experience with Agarwal Packers and Movers - DO NOT go for this one even if the rates seem affordable, not worth the agony you have to go through when you are moving and have so many other important things on your mind!!! Happy Moving!
