I am an employee of TCS. I have got transfer from Mumbai to Kolkata in the last week of October. I chose Agarwal Packers and Movers to shift my household goods and Car from Mumbai to Kolkata.
On 25th Oct 2012 the consignments were booked under below two references-
GC 832201 For Car
GC 819900 For Household Goods
Below is my experience -
I was informed by Mr. Sanjay Mishra (+91987456xxxx) that household goods has been reached in Kolkata on 03rd Nov 2012. The car will reach on 5th or 6th November, 2012. So I informed him to deliver car and household goods together on 07th Nov 2012. But on 06th Nov 2012 when I called Mr. Mishra to reconfirm the delivery of goods and car I was informed that the car was transshipped from Hyderabad and it is coming by another car carrier.
Most surprising that this information was not earlier given by Mishra ji, initially he informed me that my car will reach on 5th/6th Nov. But when your car carrier came to Kolkata he found that my car did not come in the car carrier which he told me. Finally the car reached to me after another 3 days.
For household goods, after receiving the same I found that the Almirah, Washing Machine and Friedge are damaged, mostly the almirah and Washing Machine. Washing machine requires a full servicing. It is actually broken badly.
I did not insured the consignment as I believed Agarwal P&M’s reputation. Total cost of consignment was Rs.50576.00 which I paid at the beginning.
On 20-Nov-12 I got call from Agarwal P&M and they told that as the goods were sent on owner’s risk, they are not able to pay anything. Only damage certificate they can provide.
I have been moving allover India for last 8 years. The same goods except Almirah and car I transfered from Delhi to Mumbai via Lions Packers and Movers, Gurgaon 3 years back and nothing were damaged.
As I did not insure the goods so you can easily tell that you will not help me, but my question is if the goods are not insured you are allowed to deliver it by hook or crook ? Is it your reputation which you say proudly !! Moreover I had paid total of Rs.51, 000.00(other than tips)...why ? As of my mind insurance will come into picture when the situation is out of control of anyone (may be riots..theft...accident etc). But there nothing happend other than callousness of Agarwal packers. After paying Rs 51, 000.00 insurance...? Great!!
I am sorry to say but my experience about you is very bad and I shall share my experience with maximum people so that at least few can avoid this situation.
