Beware - use them at your peril

My experience with Agarwal packers and movers. I recently used Agarwal movers(full packing and unpacking service) when I moved from brigade gateway apartments to golden grand apartments in bangalore which is 2 kms apart. I also had 6 large pieces of furniture which had to be moved to Salem - a city that is 200 km away.

We were promised that all packing would be done on monday, moving in bangalore will also be done on monday and the move to salem would be done by tuesday morning. we were charged 46000 Rs which we paid upfront.

What happened during the move was a nightmare

1- The furniture that was supposed to reach Salem did not reach on tuesday and every time we called we were told they would get back to us . Reality was they had no clue where the vehicle was or which vehicle was used. They had subletted it to a local transport company which we were not informed of. we receive a call at 8 pm asking us if we were ready to receive it tuesday late in the night or wednesday morning. we opted for the morning as my parents at Salem are elderly.

2- The furniture reached Salem on wednesday evening but with only a driver who had no clue what to do with it, no crew to move it into the house or to reassemble the furniture. After a lot of phone calls and persuasion a crew - single person was sent on thursday morning to salem to shift the furniture and reassemble.

3- I had incurred extra losses - was originally asked to arrange a professional to reassemble other pieces of furniture who I had sent on tuesday and as the load had not reached he came back. his fee 2500 Rs, had sent my driver to help my parents - his expenditure over 2 days 2000 Rs

Interestingly when I spoke to Mr. Manish jain - Agarwal movers asking him to compensate me for the losses and the pain they put me through, he says “ You are a doctor, if you operate on someone and he dies, will you refund the fee?’

  1. On delivery in bangalore on tuesday night, the delivery guys demanded an exorbitant tip  - 2500 Rs, with 8 men at home at 10 pm and two women(wife and daughter) with me, I really did not have choice

All I want to say is ‘ Use Agarwal Packers and movers at your peril’.
