The sales people at Agarwal Packers(DRS) told me that it would take them four days to shift my goods from Chennai to Hyderabad and that it would cost me Rs.10000 for 11 boxes. They collected the goods on Thursday and promised me delivery on Monday. One of the items is a chair which they dismantled and promised me that they would assemble it once it arrives at Hyderabad. Expecting them to arrive a day late, I booked a hotel room at Rs.3000 per night for Monday and Tuesday. When I called them on Monday, they said the goods will arrive tomorrow. When I called them on Tuesday, they said that it would arrive on Wednesday. This went on for another two days and the goods finally arrived on Friday. I had to pay Rs.6000 extra for the two days in the hotel costing me overall Rs.16000. As for the chair, they didn’t know how to assemble it which meant that I had to spend two hours of my time to do so. Most of the time the customer service representatives I spoke to would give me another number to contact. In addition to this, very few of them knew how to speak English which was a problem for me as I knew only English and Tamil.
Last year, I had used Writer Relocation for another shifting which turned out to be a positive experience. The only reason I chose Agarwal was because their head office is in Secunderabad which is the area I was shifting to. Had I known how this would turn out, I would have used Writers.
