Want a Refund from Air Asia? Keep trying!!

It is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT and absolutely frustrating to get refund from Air Asia for cancelled tickets. One has to keep on calling their so-called customer support only to get false assurances, lame excuses and reply like  "I am escalating your case" Finally, after lodging a complaint on their website, they sent an email stating:

Please be informed that your refund claim is approved and we have submitted this matter to your bank for their further action. The refund process shall be subject to your bank policies for completion.




  • If you paid the booking with a credit card / debit card, the payment will be refunded to that particular credit/debit card.




  • If you paid the booking using modes other than credit card/ debit card, the payment will be refunded to the account details which you have provided.






We appreciate if you could kindly liaise directly with your bank after this notification.

Air Asia has washed its hands off and passed on the buck to my bank!


It is FIVE DAYS since this mail but the refund is yet to come! Any person familiar with online transfers through NEFT know that it takes hardly one or two hours for a transfer to be effected. I have been doing online payment of my credit card dues for several years. Never does any transaction take as so many days. Whom is Air Asia trying to fool with such gimmicks?
