Air France is one of the major airlines of the world. It is also the national flag carrier of France, noted for beautiful cities, important monuments, picturesque castles, scents, flowers, the French cuisine and last but not the least, its beautiful women. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation is in Paris. It is here that I had lived for ten weeks in April 1970 for my briefing at the UNESCO Headquarters, before leaving for my duty station in Indonesia. During my stay in Paris I flew Air France a few times. I had also flown Air France once from Paris to Calcutta.
Air France is a great airline, always ready to serve the passengers with the characteristic French courtesy. It is a Member of International Air Travellers Association (IATA), and has a working relationship with Air India, but in terms of passenger service, it is well ahead of Air India.
The Paris Airport Authority, which runs Orly and Le Bourget, is a public State-controlled enterprise which builds, develops and runs the airports in the Paris region. Each Air France office has its own Welcome Service like the one at Orly Airport. The Welcome Service hostesses have a mine of information for you - from the practical to the exotic. The Paris Tourist Office has also six Reception and Information Offices where you will find pretty hostesses to give you information on anything concerning Paris and its surroundings. You can see Paris by walking, by a carriage, by taxi or by Metro.
Air France provides excellent food and drinks, and pays keen attention for giving comfort to every passenger. The hostesses and Cabin attendants are extremely courteous.
For my last visit to New York, my Travel Agents had selected Air France , but finally went for KLM as its fare was cheaper. Therefore, I am waiting for the next opportunity to fly Air France, my favourite airline.
