Not a good Alliance!

The alliance air is wholly owned subsidiary of Indian Airlines. They suffer from the same set of operational peculiarities and limitations of their principals IA. I would urge the readers to go through my review on IA for the details. Here I would cover only the differences of Alliance airways over IA.

Alliance operates with older aircrafts, that itself gives one the creeps (despite going through air-worthiness tests by the engineering team). The stowage space inside the cabins is lesser when compared to modern aircrafts. Due to this, the passengers are put to inconvenience in the last minute when boarding the aircraft. The oversized baggage allowed by the ground staff is detained by the in-flight crew and shifted to the cargo hold. This avoidable event happens with regularity. The ground staff can always caution the passenger about the oversize baggage in the first place … one wonders why they do not!

There are some positive points too. The in-flight crew is definitely younger than its IA cousin and more cheerful and helping.

Fly by Alliance only if you do not have an alternative!
