I booked the Flight 1.5 months before on 31-Oct-2011 for our Honeymoon(Delhi to Srinagar), PNR: YCD0Q, for 25-Dec-11 and 29-Dec-11. There was a surname mistake ‘Tiwari’ instead of ‘Kumari’ for my wife.
I talked to Air India Customer Care Mr. Abhay on 15-Dec-2011 for surname correction and he told me to cancel and rebook the flight. I told him that now its price are too high and in fact I will submit PAN card, Voter ID card, PAN card or Passport and even the wedding card where my wife’s parents surname was ‘Tiwari’ but Mr. Abhay gave me no another option for any correction in the surname.
Now I have cancelled the Air-India Itinerary.
This is a complete loss of more than 9, 000 INR to me where I have to bear the loss of cancellation charges and the new flight charges.
There might be more options customer care executive should give.
