I was quite excited about my first trip to Japan. I had booked my tickets with Air India and I was confident about the homely comfort that I am going to get in this flight. Since I had reached the airport very early, I noticed that there were hardly any people standing at the counter. I immediately gave my ticket and passport to the person standing at the counter and requested him for an aisle seat. He told me- Sir, the flight will be delayed due to some technical problem and instead of departing at 9.30 PM it will be departing at 5 AM.
I was told to wait for a few minutes for a bus to arrive that will take me to a Hotel. I kept waiting for a few hours and then the bus arrived and took us to Hotel Ashok. I was so happy to check into a comfortable room after a long wait of almost 4 hours. Since it was 10 PM already I went to the restaurant to have my dinner. At around 11 PM I decided to take a nap. I got a call from reception at around 1 AM to reach reception desk immediately. I had to check out and after that I was sitting in the lobby for another 2 hours or so. Finally I reached the airport at 3.30 AM and the flight was ready to depart at 5.30 AM.
If you are expecting some good looking air hostesses at the flight you would be disappointed coz most of them were not so young and good looking. They were quite rude as well. A Japanese fellow didnt fold his table in time and the hostess shouted at him telling him to do it immediately. The Japanese fellow of course was polite as ever but I was shocked to see this. Our good old fellow from Haryana was sitting and staring at one of these middle aged hostesses. She came back strongly at him and asked him- arent you ashamed of staring females being so old? The Haryana hurricane came back strongly at her with a response- If you are not ashamed at being an air hostess at this age why should I be ashamed?
The quality of food was bad and it was quite an ordeal all the way to Tokyo. The Turbulence made it even more interesting and even the passengers who were not religious were ready with their prayers. So are you ready to take off or are you ready to take the Maharaja off from your list?
