Air-India, big name with good infra and bad reputation.
I think the problem lies with not Air india but the travellers. One has to understand that we Indian has lot of expectations from our own people without thinking what we are contributing.
I am frequent traveller on Air-India and am sorry to state that at all airport counters I always see big queue at AI counter and people arguing for excess baggage. If the same set of people travel with other airlines they follow the rules. Is it not taking indian corporation for granted?
The problem is not one due to operational in-efficeiency but also due to individual attitudes. Take example of Union and Sudden strike which throws the whole system out of gear.
Air India can be a torch bearer airline and be comparable to best in the industry worldwide but we all INDIANS need to contribute mere writing reviews and reading them would not help.
Think, what have you done when you flew by AI and compare this behaviour with you travel with other airlines.
The answer lies in us and not to seek from external forces.
