Anybody planning for Air Travel please strongly avoid Air India / Indian Airlines. I went to a business trip to Chennai and I was scheduled to return to Mumbai and the Air India Flight had departure time of 8PM. The total time to reach Mumbai from Chennai by Air is around 2 hours and I reached Mumbai travelling with Air India after 10 hours. Here is my saga.
I reach airport and checked in the luggage and to my surprise there was no announcement about the delay of the flight till 9:30 PM and I got confused if I had missed the flight. Then at 10 PM they announced that the flight would be departing at 11PM. Then comes the regret announcement that the flight will depart at 11:30 PM and in the mean time they decided to serve dinner to Air India Passenger and that too, "Biscuits".
We finally boarded the flight at 12 PM and then it took another 40 minutes to take off as a passenger got into fight with a crew member for the delay. I went to use the rest rooms and to my surprise I found no water and I finally asked for mineral water. The Crew member refused to give me additional water bottle...guess it must be pure "Himalayan Water".
We finally reached Mumbai at 2:45 am and at 3:15 AM to collect the luggage and discovered that the entire flights luggage came on the belt at 4:30 AM.The flight had very poor interiors and the lights in the flight were not working properly. I just said GOD that this is the last time and I would never travel with Air India / Indian Airlines.
Never ever travel with Air India / Indian Airlines.
