Having flown almost every airline that flies between the US and India. I rank the non stop flight from the US to India the highest. (except for the ground staff). The air hostesses were very courteous. Leg space was awesome (Delta and continental have the worst possible leg space, even kids cant sit comfortably). The only bad experience was with the ground staff when my bags didnt arrive on the same flight as I.
It did arrive the next day and I was compensated $150 for 1 day without my bags. The food on Air India is always amazing too when compared with Air France, British Airways and others. I would definitely recommend the non stop flight from US to India on Air India.. Airlines like Air France, Lufthansa, British treat Indians very badly, fly with your own and be treated well.
