Well contrary to the above review, I have never found Air Mauritius punctual. The last time I flew with them the flight was delayed by 4 hours because of delays in the earlier departure of an Air Mauritius flight.
The in flight service was good and the famed claim about economy being as good as business class was true. There was very good legroom (2’’ more than BA’s equivalent on the same route for economy) and the food was also impressive. But the in flight entertainment was poor with not enough variety and tempermental tv monitors. But the cabin service was unsatisfactory and many passengers resorted to fetching their own refreshments from the aisles next to the toilets, as opposed to waiting an eternity for an air hostess to arrive.
Overall its very good if you’re on a budget, and from looking at the quality of Business class, its definetely better value than BA. But I will be flying BA next time because their whole flight experience is better overall, thanks to self service check in etc. It certainly beats the horrific lines which formed outside the Air Mauritius check in desks at heathrow.
