Travelled Chennai - Mauritius(Economy) on 5th December 2007. Flight re-scheduled from 4th December 2007 a week prior to departure and absolutely no information was given. Fortunately happened to notice it 3 days before departure. Flight was on Airbus 330/340(don’t remember) with great seating, leg space and comfort. IFE worked well, choices are limited though. Flight departed and arrived 15 minutes behind schedule. FAs attentive but could do with a smile. Food(Veg) was strictly ordinary. Bags were on the carousel in less than 15 min.
Return Mauritius - Mumbai(Economy) on 11th December 2007. Flight re-scheduled from 10th December 2007 and no information was given. Fortunately happened to notice it and made arrangements for accomodation. The Airline refused to provide any accomodation. Flight was on A340-300E. We were seated in one of the last rows(Row 40). Cramped seats with minimum leg space. I being 5’6" found it very difficult with hardly any space, can’t imagine the agony of a 6’ person seated in those dreadful seats. Flight departed and arrived 35 minutes behind schedule. FAs attentive and cheerful but the Food(Veg) was awful. There was a noisy film crew of 35 - 40 people on the plane disturbing other passengers and creating a nuisance. FAs did well to control them. Bags took about 30 min to arrive.
As they are the only airline connecting India and Mauritius directly, had no other choice. A not-too-great experience with Air Mauritius.
