Worst Customer Service

I’ve been using Aircel for the past 5 years, unexpectedly today I lost my mobile phone during my travel.


I’ve configured my mobile for all email services, mobile banking and I’ve my important confidential data stored in it !


I just want to block my number (sim card) to protect it from being misused.  I’ve been trying to reach customer care call center since from the moment I lost my phone.  But no executive has given me a responsible answer ! They are saying, they have no authority to block a sim.


And also they want me to walking to any aircel showroom in person to submit a ID proof to block my sim.


I’m frustrated ! What is the purpose of having a customer care call center, if you are not helping a customer for his emergency ?


And the worst part is, I did visited a nearby showroom even in my busy schedule to get my number locked, but the executive simply said, "This is a postpaid showroom, and your number is a prepaid number, so I cant accept your request".


Still my number is open, I dont know what to do when anything goes wrong with it !


Even I m not worrying about the lost handset which is worth of Rs.10, 000/- ! I’m very much worried about my still active number !


Another sad part of this story is, whenever you call 121 or 198, it will directly connect you to a series of recorded advertisement which will talk non stop for 3 mins before entering the menu ! And when you hit a number, the advertisement will be played again for another few minutes.  Oh God ... !


And my sincere advice is, pls dont go for Aircel if you are expecting a good customer care !
