Aircel recovery team employs extortion tactics

Important numbers:

# of Person posing as Delhi Police: 99900476*

# of Person posing as Lawyer : 083778383*

# of local executive  : 97381992*

Recently I have been pray for this heart racing recovery tactic of Aircel people. They extort money.

I have got my connection disconnected, when one of the executive called me and asked me about balance amount pending, I told them that I will pay and they even waived off 300Rs/- as I have not used at all post disconnection. So here is the fact, I searched for their outlets in a Visakhapatnam as was out of city (2012 year end). Tried to pay by online first but it wouldn’t accept since my account is disconnected.

Then checked with local mobile recharge guy and he said its not much available here as its license is cancelled. I dint know to what extent it was true, but I really couldn’t find the outlet and even it bloody wouldn’t let me pay it online. Hence I searched and eventually lost in my work. after 15 days, one guy calls me and says he is one Mr.Yadav from Delhi Police (Delhi police you are being faked illegally) and says that a lawyer by the name Sunil kumar has lodged a complaintn numbered DLP256/2013.  and if I don’t speak to him, it will result in FIR and I will get arrested. Just like any commoner, who doesn’t want police trouble, I called up to Sunil and told him the supposedly FIR# (despite it looked dubious) and then he said you have a legal ID(which happens to be just my account number) and asked me to pay that or legal expenses of Rs6000/-. I said boss this is the problem, and it never let me pay online and I couldn’t find proper outlets as I was out of city. Then he said, pay in half an hour, inform the police about this and I would withdraw the FIR. When I called up the police number, he picked the call and said "Hello Delhi Police". This is illegal.

He gave me the number of a local executive one Mr.Raghavendra for Aircel outlet details.  I rushed dropping my work and rushed to find out the center with increased blood pressure. I was feeling weak and nervous.  When I told to that Sunil that I couldn’t find the center and hence wait for some more time, he happily agreed adding to my suspicion. After searching for 2 hours, I eventually found a center 10kms away from my work place. This time before entering Sunil said he will help me pay it online! Check that, a Lawyer will help me pay online! I knew for sure that all these are recovery tactics. But the Aircel center people wouldn’t acknowledge it all. What troubled me was despite I am a good case, they treated me in bad way.

When I asked the police that  I didn’t get any legal notice to my home, he said few bad words and said when police will arrest you you will ask me for this Lawyer’s number.

After paying bill, when I inform lawyer to withdraw the fir, he says its all ok don’t worry. When I asked what about legal notice?when will I get it?  he says you might get it in 2 days. Ignore it. How can one ignore legal notice?

I am giving away their numbers so that responsible people out there never fall for those bloody tricks and press them for written legal notice else you can sue them for extortion. Also you can google for such similar case.

Aircel  you did a WRONG JOB, extorting from a person who is willing to pay. I hope to contact a lawyer and sue your company for this.
