Call to customer support could lead to suicide

Been on call with Aircel customer care for over two hours - The problem was pretty simple(low internet speed on 3G plan). Had to make 6 calls to sort this - wouldn’t have been bothered to make 6 calls had the issue been resolved. But then, they just added on to the existing issue.




  1. None at the customer support or technical support know to converse in English - not sure why they have an option to choose language in the IVR to - as well change it to "We are based in Chennai. No matter what language you speak, we will reply in Tamil."




  2. Takes hell a lot of time for them to understand the issue. In my case, the first 5 technically sound(isn’t that how its supposed to be - technical support should be technically sound) folks did not understand the issue - 3G connectivity is not fast enough - Now is that complicated?




  3. When I am on the verge of losing my patience explaining to them and ask for a transfer to their supervisor / manager, guess what - my call gets transferred to the IVR - Didn’t know if customer support is managed by an IVR:




  4. Now for the icing on the cake - after the call I get a message stating that 3G service has been deactivated on my phone. That’s a perfect resolution to my issue - I cant complain any more about low internet speed on 3G network when I have not subscribed for 3G - Morons.






I call back to check on why my 3G service is deactivated and again they are clueless and agree to resolve the issue in 48 hours - Hang on! its not what it sounds - They will have 3G reactivated in 48 hours - The initial issue still stays.


WTF man! I call them with 1 issue and now I have two.


BTW I am posting this with an approval from the customer support supervisor that I spoke to - Who had no issues in giving me a go ahead - As if he owns Aircel - But hey I am paying for it!


Attached image - 0.06 MBPS - Now that’s lightning fast - Aircel sets new benchmark in 3G connectivity or is it 4G speeds on 3G network!
