We probably remember the movement we heard of iraqs invasion of kuwait, saddam hussein and of the incident that spark off the gulf war.Airlift , written and directed by Raja Menon , take us back to that time of history, but we see it through the eye of a wealthy Indian businessesman living in Kuwait.
Based on the largely forgotten real-life incident that involved the evacuation of 170000 indians stuck in Kuwait, Airlift is the inspiring story of an ordinary man who turn into a hero when faced with extraordinary circumstances. For the most part the film feels authentic , and Nimrat Kair blends right in. But Airlift expectedly reat on Akshay Kumar shoulder and he underplay the heroism beautifully bringing quiet but steely resolve to the character even delivering the stray note of humor almost congressionally. There almost none of his starry baggage in this performance, which easily count amongst hist best .
Im going with 5 out of 5 for airlift .Dont miss.
