I got a prepaid data card plan from airtel which is of rs. 3000 for 6 months. the speed was good for first 2 weeks which was for airtel to impress us in the beginning. with average data usage of checking mails and uploading some application forms, now it is the 3rd week onwards, the speed is much worst and I have been suffering to get even mail or google page. it is not even connecting and I had to disconnect/connect many times. it is the same location, same room where the data card has been placed. so there is no reason from my side, the data card has to be going unacceptably slow. its the cheating game of airtel that they will good speed for couple of weeks and then make it to suck.
while airtel is smart enough to cheat us, it is better to go for a post paid plan. if it is post paid plan and airtel is intentionally screwing the modem speed at the background for more profit, you can close the plan in any month by keeping that months payment pending with airtel to show that we are smarter than those airtel cheats. it is a consumer issue as they know it and I did the same with tata docomo who didnt do anything about the slowing data speed day by day which was beyond the tolerable limit.
