I was very exited about airtel broadband as I have used it earlier at Delhi and Chandigarh.
Last month I applied for a connection and it takes around 7 days for installation.
Airtel guy came and just lay wire to my flat (No fixed wiring). Second person came and asking me to provide modem. I was surprised. he told me Airtel not proving modem now. I gave him 800 to get a modem. He setup everything and internet was working fine for 4 days. On 5th day net down, I tried to call that guys who installed a connection, He hasn’t answered my calls. Then I called to customer care they gave me another number, when I call that guy he gave me another number when I call on that number they told me there is problem in the modem go to our service center to get it repaired. Totally pissed off.
They I decided to disconnect connection because no body visited my house at all. After 6 days of disconnection I got a call from one guys from airtel he came and fixed the problem. For 4 days it worked fine and then again same problem. I called that guy he hasn’t responded back and again after 4 days I decided to purchase own modem.
I spent 2800 and bought modem cum router. I called CC to send someone to setup that. No reply. Somehow I setup router at home with help of CC and now internet is working fine not sure for how many days. But disconnection rate is very high.
So I would suggest you if you want still to go for airtel.
1) Get your best quality ADSL modem
2) and Note down all the router settings
3) in case of any issue better to call CC technical support instead of waiting some to come.
As nobody is going to respond even I have already sent a mail to south region nodal officer. So best of luck.
