Airtel has a very good marketing strategy, their advertisements appeal to you very much. Going by this, I was tempted by their Broadband offer of Rs 1000/- for unlimited internet and additional Rs 100/- for unlimited calls on the fixed landline. Both broadband and landline instruments were to be given free.
The sales person was very prompt in answering my questions and since the offer was very attractive, I have immediately subscribed. I was told that the installation would be completed in 1 day.
Finally, it was done after 4 days. The salesman who had been so courteous till he got the payment, did not respond to my calls at all. Nor was there any response from the service or office. The persons who came only at night to lay the cable were in a very big hurry and did not complete the task. Moreover, they did not provide the telephone instrument. Said that they would bring it the next day.
Again for two days, there was no response from them. I n the meanwhile, I had registered a complaint on their website and to my shock was told that there is no free instrument for my package. Still could not connect with their sales person or service person.
Finally, on the sixth day, the technicians came and activated the broadband. They have now left their test phone at home with the promise that they would bring a new instrument by today. Have to wait and see.
The speed I get is only 2 mbps and the signal is very weak. Technicians are suggesting that I buy a better Router which means, their router is not a good product.
Overall totally disappointed with Airtel. Will see how it works for a couple of months and decide wheter to keep it or disconnect.
